5-4-3-2-1

Do you have a goal you’re trying to reach? I use this easy rule to inspire me to keep on, keeping on, despite setbacks along the way.

At the top of a piece of paper, write your goal. Then write the numbers 5 - 4 - 3 -2 -1 down the left-hand side of the page.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What can I do in 5 minutes?

  • What can I do in 4 days?

  • What can I do in 3 weeks?

  • What can I do in 2 months?

  • What can I do in 1 year?

Now, answer each question with ONE task you can achieve in the time limit, that will help you towards your end goal. Then post the page on your fridge, your bathroom mirror, your bulletin board at work — or take a picture of the page and make it your wallpaper on your phone. The key is that you SEE this page every single day, hopefully multiple times a day, so that you’re reminded of your goal, and the 5 steps you’re going to take towards achieving it!

Let me know if you do this, and how it’s going!
